Abstract

|
The intensive care unit of the burn patient was installed at the Seoul National University Hospital for the first time on July, 1981. The authors made a statistical analysis of the total patients treated at the burn unit during the period of last 5 years(1981.7-1985.12) for the purpose of evaluating general trend of Korean burn patients. The efficiency of team approach in the treatment of burn patient and the necessity of the specialized care system such as burn center is discussed. Also we found out some problems in the management of burn care unit and offerede several answers for that problems. The main purpose of this paper is to introduce our burn unit and to offer our experience to other units which will be established in the future days.
